Duval Street
Many of the popular bars and restaurants are found along Duval Street. You can even see what is currently happening by viewing the Duval Street Web Cam.
Museums
The Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum is also a popular destination. Hemingway lived in Key West for more than 10 years. The Hemingway Home is not the only place in Key West that the great author appears. Sloppy Joe’s restaurant uses Hemingway’s face on the front of many of their t-shirts. The Audubon House and Gardens is a great place to view local foliage while also learing about the local history. The many reefs around Key West are a joy to look at, but have also caused havoc to shipping. The Key West Shipwreck Historeum Museum shows how shipwrecks were handled in the past.
Family Fun
If you want to view fish upclose without getting wet, try the Key West Aquarium. The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory let's you stroll through a tropical paradise of butterflies. If you want to see live theatre in Key West, visit the Tennessee Williams Theatre. With three trips daily, the Discovery Glass Bottom Boat provides a unique perspective of the sea floors around Key West.
Cruise Ships
In 1984, Key West City decided to upgrade their current port to accomodate large scale cruise ships. That proven to be a great decision because now the port of Key West is a very active location with ships docking almost each day. The city of Key West even provides a calendar of when cruise ships will dock.
Dry Tortugas
The official end of the Florida Keys is not at Key West. That honor goes to the Dry Tortugas islands 70 miles west of Key West. The Tortugas are home to the Dry Tortugas National Park & Fort Jefferson National Monument. To get there, you either have to take a ferry or go by plane.
City Tours
A great easy, and stylish, way to see Key West is the Conch Tour Train. If you feel like something a little more adventurous, why not try Ghost Tours of Key West.
Sailing Trips
Key West is a great place for a romantic sunset sail. Sebago and Fury are but a few of the many charter boat companies to choose from. If small boats aren't to your liking, you may be interested in the Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships or the Schooner Western Union.
